Tibetan Buddhist Thangka, circa 1750. Rare art painting scroll from the Himalayans. Presented by a Buddhist monk to a Jewish cantor who was journeying throughout Asia in the 1950s and 60s teaching the art of canting.One ancient religion meets another in an exchange of aesthetics and practices based on compassion and love. Since the Communist Chinese crackdown on Tibet and Buddhist monks, these ancient artifacts have become much more difficult to acquire, escalating in value as a result.
